Linguistics (noun): the science of language, including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and historical linguistics.
Polyglot (noun): a person who speaks, writes, or reads a number of languages. (Related to hyperpolyglot, someone who speaks, writes, or reads more than five languages.)
I have enjoyed learning languages since I was very yount. As a pre-teen, I dabbled in French, Spanish, and even German, as well as attempted to make up a language with my brother. (He flat-out refused to engage in this process, sadly.) This love of languages led me to become a Rotary International Exchange Student in 2002-2003 to Quimper, France, where I spent a year at a Lycee and passed the BAC for that year. Now, I expand my language abilities into other languages such as Spanish, German, Hebrew, Yiddish, and Esperanto.
This page is dedicated to all those with the desire to become a polyglot or even hyperpolyglot. You'll find language learning resources, an overview of my own personal language learning process, as well as information on general and computational linguistics.
